School Lunches
At Green Oaks Primary Academy, we know that a healthy, balanced lunch helps children to stay energised, focused and ready to learn throughout the school day.
Hot School Meals
Our hot school meals are provided by Kingswood Catering, a specialist provider of primary school meals across Northamptonshire. They offer a range of nutritious meal choices and cater for a variety of dietary needs.
Parents and carers who would like their child to have a school meal should register and order meals directly through Kingswood Catering. Parents can create an account, register their child and select meals through the Kingswood website.
Visit Kingswood Catering to register, order or manage your child's meals https://www.kingswoodcatering.co.uk/
When ordering, for older children, we would encourage parents and children to view the menu together and select meals that the children like. It can be upsetting for children when they receive a meal that they don't like, and we know children need lunch to be ready for the afternoon.
If you have a question about registering, ordering or your Kingswood Catering account, please contact them directly:

Packed Lunches
Children are also welcome to bring a healthy packed lunch from home.
We encourage families to provide a balanced lunch that will give children the energy and nutrition they need for a busy day of learning. We encourage children to bring a reusable water bottle to school and ask families to support us in promoting healthy food choices.
Please remember to follow any school guidance regarding allergies and foods that should not be brought onto the school site. We aim to be a nut free site, so please do not send children in with products which may contain nuts.
Free School Meals
There are different types of free school meal entitlement, so we encourage all families to check whether their child may be eligible.
Reception, Year 1 and Year 2
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are automatically entitled to a free school meal through the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme. [westnorthants.gov.uk]
However, even if your child already receives a free meal under this scheme, it is very important to apply if your family receives a qualifying benefit. This allows West Northamptonshire Council to determine whether your child qualifies for Targeted Free School Meals, which can also generate additional Pupil Premium funding for our school. This funding helps us provide additional support, resources and opportunities for eligible pupils.
Targeted and Expanded Free School Meals
For the 2026/27 academic year, children in households receiving Universal Credit may be entitled to free school meals under the expanded eligibility arrangements. West Northamptonshire Council advises families receiving Universal Credit to check their eligibility and apply, including families who have not previously qualified. [westnorthants.gov.uk], [westnorthants.gov.uk]
Targeted Free School Meals are particularly important because eligible children not only receive a free school meal, but their school also receives additional Pupil Premium funding to support their education. [westnorthants.gov.uk]
We strongly encourage all eligible families to apply, even if your child is already receiving a free meal in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2.
Applying for Free School Meals can support both your family and our school, helping us to make sure that every child at Green Oaks has the support and opportunities they need to thrive.
