School Values

Friday Celebration Assemblies

Every Friday morning, our school community comes together to celebrate the achievements and successes of our pupils. During our Celebration Assembly, each class recognises a Star of the Week, chosen for consistently demonstrating one of our school values and serving as a positive role model for others.

We also present our Maths Master and English Award, recognising children who have gone above and beyond in their learning, showing exceptional effort, progress or achievement in these subjects. Parents and carers are warmly invited to join us in celebrating these special accomplishments.

Attendance is another important part of our celebrations, and we recognise classes that achieve 97% attendance or above, highlighting the importance of being in school every day and ready to learn.

The assembly concludes with the announcement of our weekly House Point Cup winners, celebrating teamwork, effort and positive contributions across the school. It is always a wonderful opportunity to recognise and applaud the many achievements of our children and reinforce the values that make our school community so special.

Cultural Enrichment
We have mapped out our offer of trips and experiences across the Academy to cover a wide range of curriculum areas.

Residential Trips
We have reintegrated residentials into our curriculum offer recently to encourage independence and self-reliance in our pupils.

Our PSHE offer
We use the Jigsaw scheme of work, but adapt this to ensure that within our PSHE lessons, we cover a range of concepts, such as British Values, diversity and the Rights of the Child.  Each week, our children engage with Picture News to discuss a range of current affairs to help them to understand their place in today's world.

SEND and inclusivity
Classes openly discuss issues of inclusivity within PSHE lessons and when they arise. Children are taught about ways in which to ensure people with differing needs are included within society, not just in our academy.

Extra-Curricular Clubs
Many children have the opportunity to attend our after-school clubs run by our staff and Unmatched Coaching in a range of different activities.

Sports Competitions
We are scheduled to attend local sporting competitions this academic year. These competitions range in their target audience, therefore providing greater opportunities for those who wouldn’t normally attend sporting competitions to attend.

Assemblies
We tackle many important issues within our assemblies. Assemblies are mapped out across the year to discuss British values, Protected Characteristics, Rights of the Child and current affairs, our PSHE curriculum and issues that arise in our academy and in the world.

School events and fundraising

We have a number of opportunities throughout the year for children to participate in, including film nights, discos and fundraising days for charity. 

The Daily Mile
We are in the infancy of introducing the Daily Mile to activate our minds prior to learning and enhancing our physical and mental health.
