Greetings! As School Councillors we are really looking forward to helping make Green Oaks an even better place to learn, play and make friends this year.
At the end of last year, the School Council asked what you would like us to focus on for the next twelve months. Your top three suggestions were:
- Whole school art project;
- Raising money for charity;
- House competitions.
Every Friday lunchtime, we will run a drop-in session (outside year 6 at 12:35) if you would like to come and chat to us. Remember, we are happy to talk to you at other times too.
We are looking forward to hearing your ideas and suggestions.
School Council representative elections take place on Thursday 13 th September. We have had a good response with lots of children wanting to be considered. Miss Payne presented an assembly about the election process. The children have presented their manifestos to their classes and a polling station will be set up in one of the classrooms.
Road Safety Poster Competition.
Congratulations to Humaira (Year 5) whose winning design can be seen on the School Council display and here on the website, and will soon be making an appearance around the school and the community. A mention also for Mia (Year 6) who was awarded a Special Commendation for her efforts.
Keeping safe on our way to school, including the school grounds, is really important. If you missed our school assembly, a copy of the PowerPoint is available also available here and our display.
We'd like to take the opportunity to thank Mrs Lisa Downes for her suggestion.
